Overview

ALITA 2003 Isophthalic Unsaturated Polyester Resin

CategoryAnti-corrosion ResinCodeALITA 2003

Features

ALITA 2003 is a high-performance, isophthalic-type unsaturated polyester resin. It features excellent wetting and impregnation capability for glass fibers alongside outstanding application and processing behavior.

  • Mechanical Toughness: Cured casting parts exhibit robust toughness, robust impact resistance, and a high Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT 100°C).
  • Corrosion Resistance: Delivers reliable protection and chemical resistance against a broad spectrum of aggressive media.
  • Recommended Processes: Highly optimized for fabricating fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) products with demanding temperature and corrosion-resistance requirements via hand lay-up, filament winding, or pultrusion molding processes.

Casting spec preparation & curing schedule:
1. Specimen Preparation: Formulated under GB/T 8237-2005 at 25°C.
2. Curing Setup: 0.8% Co/oct accelerator at 1.0%, Butanox M-50 curing agent at 1.5%.
3. Post-curing Cycle: RT × 24 hours + 60°C × 3 hours + 120°C × 2 hours.

Usage Instructions

  • Accelerator Selection: Do not apply highly efficient colorless accelerators, as they cause incomplete cross-linking leaving a sticky surface. We strongly recommend E4 or alternative professional-grade FRP accelerators.
  • Gel Time Management: Under high temperatures, never reduce the curing agent dosing ratio below the recommended threshold. Add trace quantities of Gel Time Retarder / Inhibitor instead to control the reaction pathway.
  • Air Inhibition: Under high humidity, oxygen/air inhibition may cause surface tack. An optimized dosage of paraffin wax solution can be incorporated to prevent this.

Storage & Handling

  • Logistics Safety: Transportation must align with National Regulations Governing the Logistics and Safe Transport of Dangerous Chemicals.
  • Storage Conditions: Stored in tightly sealed containers indoors inside a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse below 25°C. Keep away from sparks, open flames, solar radiation, or steam pipes.
  • Guaranteed Shelf Life: Guaranteed for 3 months from ex-factory date under compliant storage. Read the safety protocols in the official Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
