ALITA MG-802 Isophthalic Heat-Resistant Mold Polyester Resin

CategoryHand Lay-up ResinCodeALITA MG-802

Overview

ALITA MG-802 is an isophthalic-type unsaturated polyester resin specifically designed for high-performance FRP mold making. It features medium viscosity, excellent fiber wetting, and a very high Heat Distortion Temperature (HDT 120°C) with low shrinkage, ensuring superb dimensional stability and surface finish for precision molds.

Features

  • High HDT (120°C): Resists heat deformation during the high exotherm phase of part fabrication, extending mold life.
  • Low Shrinkage & High Precision: Prevents fiber print-through and maintains precise mold dimensions.
  • Excellent Strength & Impact Resistance: Robust mechanical properties support repeated demolding stress.

Usage Instructions

  • Curing System: Recommended: 55% MEKPO 2% + E1 Accelerator 1-4%. Avoid amine-based accelerators to prevent degradation of thermal stability.
  • Mandatory Post-Curing: To achieve its high heat-resistant properties, the mold must be fully cured. Recommended post-curing schedule: Room temp demold followed by 60°C × 2-3h + 120°C × 2-3h.
  • Lamination Control: Control the lamination thickness per step to prevent excessive heat build-up and guarantee shrinkage control.
