ALITA 2085PT Orthophthalic Pre-accelerated Thixotropic Resin

CategoryHand Lay-up ResinCodeALITA 2085PT

Overview

ALITA 2085PT is an orthophthalic-type, pre-accelerated, and thixotropic unsaturated polyester resin synthesized from phthalic anhydride, maleic anhydride, and standard glycols. It features low viscosity and medium reactivity, offering an excellent balance between structural performance and processability.

Features

  • Low Shrinkage & Low Exotherm: Minimizes internal stress and improves dimensional stability in cured laminates.
  • Excellent Water Resistance: Provides durable protection for marine and general outdoor components.
  • Superior Processability: High glass fiber wet-out capability and thixotropy prevent resin drainage on vertical surfaces.
  • High Dimensional Stability: Ideal for parts requiring low warp and tight tolerances.

Usage Instructions

  • Optimized for hand lay-up and spray-up processes for inland lake/river boats or structural layers of marine vessels.
  • Automotive body components, truck fairings, and industrial enclosures requiring low shrinkage.
  • Note: This resin contains thixotropic agents and accelerators; it does not contain wax.

Storage & Handling

  • Storage: Store indoors in a cool, ventilated area below 25°C. Avoid fire, heat sources, and direct sunlight. Keep containers sealed to prevent moisture ingress and monomer loss.
  • Shelf Life: 6 months under standard conditions; 3 months for resin containing accelerators.
  • Safety: Classified as Class 3 flammable hazardous material. Handle with appropriate protective gear and ventilation.
