Applications
ALITA 518 is a high-quality unsaturated polyester resin specifically designed for SMC/BMC molding compound processes. It features excellent solubility in styrene, exhibiting high viscosity and high reactivity.
- Process Optimization: Tailored for SMC/BMC production, featuring excellent and consistent thickening behavior with no phase separation during storage.
- Class-A Surface: When used in conjunction with low-shrink/low-profile additive ALITA L-5016, it achieves zero or even negative shrinkage, making it ideal for producing parts requiring Class-A surfaces.
- Physical Properties: Provides outstanding heat resistance (HDT up to 140℃).
- Application Fields: Widely used in automotive, electrical/power, and construction industries.

- MgO Paste (35% active MgO): 2.5 parts
Usage Instructions
1. Ratio Adjustment: The standard recommended ratio for 518 and L-5016 is 60:40, which can be adjusted according to specific requirements.
2. Inhibitor: Depending on the part size, it is recommended to add 300ppm to 600ppm of p-benzoquinone (PBQ) to the formulation.
Storage & Handling
- Temperature: Strongly recommended to store in a stable environment below 25℃.
- Light & Sealing: Keep away from direct sunlight and steam pipes. Keep containers sealed to prevent moisture ingress and monomer loss. Follow the "FIFO" principle.
