ALITA 262P-FR Pre-promoted Flame-Retardant Terephthalic Polyester Resin

CategoryFlame Retardant ResinCodeALITA 262P-FR

Overview

ALITA 262P-FR resin is a pre-promoted, flame-retardant terephthalic-type unsaturated polyester resin based on purified terephthalic acid (PTA) as the main raw material. It features low viscosity, medium reactivity, and high rigidity, making it suitable for pultrusion and extrusion processes for manufacturing products with strict fire-safety and mechanical strength requirements.

Features

  • Pre-promoted System: Formulation contains built-in cobalt accelerators for steady, reliable curing on automated lines.
  • High Rigidity: Terephthalic structure provides high structural modulus, preventing warping or mechanical deflection.
  • Excellent Flame Retardancy: Compound additives provide physical flame-retarding and self-extinguishing characteristics.
  • Wax-Free, Thixo-Free: Low viscosity liquid flow is ideal for fiber roving wetting in pultrusion molds.

Usage Instructions

Designed for pultrusion and continuous extrusion to manufacture structural profiles like:

  • Mine-support GRP rock bolts and anchor rods.
  • Electrical cable trays, safety ladders, and structural gratings.
  • Tent poles, fishing rods, and lightweight high-stiffness tubes.

Curing Characteristics

  • Pultrusion Curing Formulations: The recommended initiator package for extrusion processes is: BPO curing agent 0.5-2.0% + TBPB curing agent 0.5-1.5%. Selection must be optimized based on drawing speed, profile thickness, and heating zones. For thick sections, add 10% low-shrinkage additive.
  • Alternatives: For higher heat and seawater resistance, select isophthalic ALITA 239. For chemical corrosion resistance, select vinyl ester ALITA 901.
  • Handling & Storage: Avoid skin and eye contact. Store at temperatures below 25°C (77°F). Avoid direct sunlight or steam pipes. Do not store outdoors. Keep containers sealed to prevent moisture contamination and monomer loss. Shelf life is 3 months.
