ALITA 5202 Isophthalic Unsaturated Polyester Resin

ALITA 5202 is an unsaturated polyester resin based on isophthalic acid dissolved in styrene monomer. It is engineered for general-purpose glass fiber reinforced applications requiring outstanding mechanical properties and high resistance to environmental factors and hydrolysis.

• Chemical Resistance: High resistance to acidic/alkaline environments and hydrolysis.
• Low Water Absorption: Extremely low moisture pick-up for durable underwater or outdoor performance.
• Rigid Performance: High cross-linking density produces highly rigid and durable structures.

Highly suitable for filament winding, molding, casting, laminating, and corrosion-resistant linings. Main industrial targets include water tanks, marine hulls, chemical pipes, and storage containers.

Note: Curing data obtained with 1.5g cobalt solution (1% cobalt octoate) and 1.5g MEKP (50%) in 100g of resin at 25°C.

• Dilution: ALITA 5202 should be diluted only with styrene monomer. Validate compatibility with other materials before batch mixing.
• Storage & Shelf Life: Store in sealed containers away from direct sunlight at temperatures below 25°C. Shelf life is 6 months under recommended conditions.
