Overview

ALITA 8077HT is a high viscosity, high cross-linking density solvent-resistant novolac epoxy vinyl ester resin. It possesses excellent resistance to solvents and high temperatures, such as resistance to highly soluble organic solvents like chlorobenzene, benzene, toluene, xylene, and dimethylformamide (DMF). It maintains better mechanical properties at high temperatures and exhibits excellent long-term absolute high-temperature resistance, performing well at 230°C. It is an ideal solvent-resistant and high-temperature heavy-duty anti-corrosion resin.

  • Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to most acids, alkalis, salt solutions, and some organic solvents.
  • Processability: Good wettability with fiber reinforcements, providing good workability.
  • Mechanical Properties: Excellent overall mechanical properties; the heat distortion temperature (HDT) of the neat resin casting reaches 200°C–210°C.
  • Performance Levels: Corrosion and temperature resistance equivalent to SWANCOR 977S, RIPOXY H-6008, and Derakane Momentum® 470HT-400 levels.

Applications

  • An ideal heavy-duty anti-corrosion resin suitable for various FRP molding processes such as hand lay-up, spray-up, winding, and RTM.
  • Widely used in on-site heavy-duty anti-corrosion construction, such as FRP lining for metal or concrete, and lining mastic for jointing or grouting.
  • Particularly suitable for manufacturing FRP equipment and products in high-temperature wet chlorine environments, strong acids, strong alkalis, acidic oxidizing media, and organic solvent environments.

Advice: Factors affecting gel time include temperature, humidity, and additives. Conduct a trial mix before large-scale application.

Storage & Handling

  • Packaging: Clean 20kg/200kg drums or 1000kg IBCs.
  • Storage: Cool, dry, ventilated environment below 25°C. Shelf life is 6 months. Promote and initiators must be stored separately.
  • Transport: Must comply with hazardous chemical regulations. Cold chain recommended from May to October.
