Overview

ALITA L-5016 Low Shrinkage (LP) Additive (Specially for Class-A Surfaces)

CategoryLow Shrink AdditivesCodeALITA L-5016

Applications

ALITA L-5016 is an A-class surface low shrinkage additive specifically designed for SMC/BMC molding processes.

  • Shrinkage Control: Features extremely low resin viscosity and superior shrinkage control capabilities. The shrinkage of the final product can be controlled within zero or even negative shrinkage, ideal for products with extremely strict requirements for dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
  • Weathering Resistance: Exhibits excellent heat resistance, water resistance, and weathering resistance, meeting the stringent requirements of specialty products.
  • Application Fields: Widely used in automotive components, electrical housings, and other molded products requiring a Class-A Surface.

Reference Formulation

1. Proportion Suggestion: ALITA L-5016 is typically used in conjunction with ALITA 1506 resin. The generally recommended ratio (L-5016:1506) is 50:50, which can be adjusted according to specific requirements.
2. Molding Conditions: Recommended molding temperature is 140~160℃ with a pressure of 50~100kg/cm².
3. Inhibitor Addition: Depending on product size, 300ppm~600ppm of p-Benzoquinone may be added to the formulation, calculated based on the total sum of resin and low shrinkage additive.

Storage & Handling

  • Protective Measures: Avoid contact with skin and eyes; protective clothing, gloves, and goggles must be worn during operation.
  • Temperature Control: Strongly recommended to store in a stable environment below 25℃ (77℉).
  • Environmental Requirements: Keep away from direct sunlight, steam pipes, or other heat sources. Outdoor storage is strictly prohibited to prevent moisture contamination.
  • Sealing Management: Keep containers sealed to minimize monomer loss. Follow the "FIFO" principle for inventory turnover.
