ALITA 1005NSM Styrene-Free Unsaturated Polyester Resin

ALITA 1005NSM is a specialty styrene-free unsaturated polyester resin featuring medium viscosity and reactivity. It is specifically formulated to be compatible with various foam materials, as it does not attack or erode Polystyrene (PS), Polyethylene (PE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), or Polyurethane (PU) foams.

• Styrene-Free Formulation: Contains no styrene monomer, ensuring complete safety when applied to foam cores (PS/PE/PU/PVC) without risk of chemical erosion.
• Excellent Strength & Rigidity: Cured laminates show outstanding toughness, flexural strength, and rigid modulus for lightweight structures.
• Stable Handling: Excellent flow properties for rapid glass fiber impregnation combined with thixotropic characteristics to prevent drainage.

Optimized for hand lay-up laminating processes on foam-core structures. Typical applications include:

• Manufacturing of surfboards, paddleboards, and lightweight marine components.
• Bonding and reinforcement of foam-based sculptures, exhibition structures, and architectural models.

Note: Gel test: 25°C water bath, 50g resin + 2.0g Pure Cobalt Accelerator (1% Co) + 2.0g MEKP Hardener.

• Curing System: Recommended dosage: Pure Cobalt Accelerator 1.0-4.0% and MEKP Hardener 1.0-4.0%. For rapid curing requirements, an appropriate amount of amine-based promoter (e.g., N,N-Dimethylaniline) can be added.
• Sensitivity: The resin is sensitive to light. Ensure containers remain tightly sealed and avoid prolonged exposure to strong light before use.
• Packaging & Storage: Supplied in 220kg net weight metal drums. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse below 25°C. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Shelf life is 3-6 months.
